Ramadevar

Ramadevar is one of the 18 revered Siddhars of Tamil tradition. He is believed to have been a divine being who attained enlightenment through spiritual practices, meditation, and deep wisdom. His contributions to Siddha medicine, alchemy, and philosophy remain significant.

Ramadevar is said to have initially been a sage from North India who later traveled to South India to learn and practice the Siddha tradition. He was guided by Siddhar Agathiyar, under whose teachings he mastered Siddha medicine, yoga, and spiritual wisdom.

According to legends, Ramadevar was also known as Yacob, indicating his connection with other spiritual traditions. He is believed to have possessed mystical powers and profound knowledge of alchemy, metallurgy, and medicinal formulations.

He authored various Siddha texts that discuss the secrets of immortality, herbal medicine, and the transformation of metals. His writings emphasize the importance of purity, both in body and mind, to achieve higher spiritual states.

Ramadevar attained enlightenment and is believed to have merged with the divine light, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, spiritual teachings, and Siddha medicine practices that continue to be followed today.
