Siddhar Agathiyar is one of the most revered sages in Tamil tradition. He is regarded as the father of Tamil literature and Siddha medicine. He is believed to have been a divine sage who played a crucial role in spreading knowledge, spirituality, and ancient medicinal practices.

Agathiyar was said to have received knowledge directly from Lord Shiva and was tasked with spreading wisdom across the southern parts of India. His works include contributions to Tamil grammar, alchemy, and mystical poetry.

He is credited with compiling the Agathiyar Samhita and has written extensively on herbal medicine, astrology, and spiritual enlightenment. He is also believed to have visited many temples and conducted numerous spiritual teachings.
